DIFFERENTIAL CALCULUS

PROBLEM: 2

Find the interval in which f(x)=2log(x-2)-xsq+4x+1 increases
a) (1,2)
b) (2,3)
c) (5/2,3)
d) (2,4)                                                   ( DC/M)


Note: xsq term stands for x square.

    We have a lane running perpendicular to a road of width ‘a’. What shld be th minimum width of th lane if we need to insert a rod of length ‘b’(b>a) into the lane keeping it horizontal.
